Luxury Bus vs. Charter Bus:  Which is a Better Choice?

7/11/2015

In the business of providing Large Group Transportation, we are often asked the difference between a Charter Bus and one of our Luxury 50 Passenger Buses. - Also, which is a better choice. So, obviously, we make a living renting Buses, so it's understandable that we would be biased one way; however there is no need to try and sell a service a customer can not benefit from.

When a group is trying to chose between renting a Charter Bus or Luxury Bus, here are some things to take into consideration:
1. Who Are You Transporting?

The type of group can have a lot of merit in your decision. 50 Children typically wouldn't be an ideal group to have on a Luxury Bus, due to leather interiors and high-end features. However, a standard Charter Bus, which does come with TV's and DVD players, can move a large number of people, and doesn't offer expensive upholstery. Most Charter Buses are cloth interiors, which are a bit easier to clean, sew, and replace. Damages on any rented vehicle are the responsibility of the renter.

On the other hand, an office group of employees or a number of VIP clients might benefit from a more State-of-the-Art riding experience. It's an obvious truth, in our experience, that Adults tend to have a greater respect for Luxury than kids.

2. Where Are You Traveling?

Both Charter Buses and Luxury Buses will get you to the destination of your choice. Both in the same amount of time, and both transporting approximately the same amount of people. But we have a few suggestions in helping you decide between the two.

Charter Buses are convenient when transporting across long distances or out of state. Charters are usually used for High School or College Sports Teams, Band Competitions, or Summer Camps.

Luxury Buses tend to be more appropriate when your destination is in state, and not considered long distance. Large Business Meetings, Wedding Parties, Office Sporting Events, Church Trips, Large Group Airport Shuttle, and Family Reunion Trips are just a few of the Premiere trips for using Luxury Bus.

3. Your Groups Needs

Are you trying to impress someone? A VIP client or an in-law? If you have a need to impress, then certainly check out a Luxury Bus from your transportation. These vehicles are build to transport in Style and in Class, with the comfort of a Town Car but the capabilities to hold the amounts of a Charter.

It's good to compare what Luxury Coaches and Charter Buses have to offer to make a wise decision.

Most Luxury Coach Buses offer these amenities:
  • Ample amount of Flat Screen Televisions, so anyone can see
  • PA System for Tour Guides or Trip Announcements
  • In-Motion Satellite Television
  • DVD Players
  • Outstanding Surround Sound
  • Overhead Luggage Racks
  • Individual Mood Lighting / Reading Lights
  • Rear Audio Controls
  • Rear Luggage Area
  • Plush, Reclining Leather Seating
  • Armrests & Footrests
  • On-board Restrooms
  • Spacious Interior with Roomy Aisles
  • Climate Control

Most Charter Buses offer these amenities:

  • Reclining Seats with Cloth Interior
  • Built-In Footrests
  • DVD Player With Monitors
  • Individual Reading Lamps
  • Individual AC/Heating Vents
  • PA Systems
  • Dash Mounted AM/FM CD Player
  • On-board Restrooms

It all depends on your group and your destination. No matter which large group transportation vehicle you chose, Grapevine Bus Rentals can provide you the Transportation and your Personal Chauffeur. It always helps to make wise decisions, and if you have any questions about a Luxury Bus or Charter Bus, you can feel free to call our office.

It's interesting how you said that charter bus transportation is normally used for long-distance travel. Every year, my family plans a big reunion that normally involved traveling to somewhere like the Grand Canyon or something like that. Normally we all just kind of drive out on our own but I think it would be a great idea to do something like this so we could all spend the time traveling together. I'll have to run the idea by my mom and see if she would like to try it next year.

I like how you mentioned that charter bus trips are well suited for long-distance travels or out of state ventures. That's perfect to learn since we've been thinking of getting a charter bus for our next travel to the game back in our old hometown. I'm sure the kids and their baseball buddies will enjoy seeing a rural game in the summer. Thanks for the informative article on the difference between luxury buses and charter buses!

I was looking into some possible mode of transportation I could get my nephews, and nieces to their upcoming summer camp as I was the one assigned to do it this year. Your advice to try out charter buses as they are convenient when transporting across long distances sounds quite the thing I was looking for. Hopefully, the driver would be able to accommodate one young adult with 14 kids with her. I'll try scheduling a rental early before others do come up with the same idea. Thanks!

I like how you mentioned that the people you travel with can influence the type of bus that you travel in. A minibus might be just right for a pair of families for example but a full-sized bus might be too large. Knowing the group you are with would be important to ensure that things work out well.

I totally agree that one should choose a chartered bus if they will be travelling long distances or even out of state. Our family wants to go on a vacation and we are planning to take a trip on another state that is quite distant from where we live. With this in mind, I will see to it that I only do business with a reputable coach bus rental company.

I like that you mentioned how may high school and collegiate sports programs often use buses to transport their teams. You want to be sure you can fit your entire squad there when you do order, so be sure and double check the seating. It is best to have a little extra room for emergencies.

Thanks for pointing out that a charter bus is better for long distances or out-of-state travel. My husband and I have been talking about taking out kids on a road trip. Our destination is out-of-state, so it sounds like a charter bus is a good option for us!

My extended family is taking a trip this summer and there will be about thirty of us, so we are thinking about using a charter bus so that we can all travel together. You make a great point that a charter bus is convenient for traveling long distances and they typically have reclining seats and DVD players. Also, the fact that there are on-board restrooms would save us a lot of time so that we don't have to stop as much on the way to our destination.

I like how you point out that charter buses are convenient if you need to move a lot of people over long distances or out of state, or when you're dealing with high school and college teams. I sometimes help out with debate tournaments and it is hard to find transportation with carpooling or school district vehicles over long distances and with so many kids. I'll have to look into renting a charter bus.

That is really nice that charter buses most likely have DVD players with monitors. Maybe it would be good to get a charter bus when traveling in a large group so we could watch a movie on the way to where we are going. This is something I would want to to look into before going on a group trip.

I wanted to thank you for helping me learn more about luxury buses and charter buses. It's good to know that charter buses can be good if you are transporting across long distances or even out of state. It sounds important to think of how long your trip will be and measure it out to figure out what transportation you should get.

My son's teacher wants to take fifty children on a field trip. I like how you mention taking into consideration how many persons you will be transporting. Thank you for the information. I will recommend her to get a charter bus.

I love how you said to ask who you're transporting. That's going to be important in deciding what you need. My daughter is having a field trip and so they'd probably want a kid-friendly bus for themselves.

I'm going to take all of my relatives to my sister's wedding, and we've decided that we're going to meet halfway in order to make sure that we can all attend the event. I think it will be easier or us to hire a bus charter when we meet at the park since we're all planning to go to one place. As you've mentioned, the wedding will be held out of state, so this might be a cheaper option for us.

My cousin is thinking about getting married later in the Spring and they want to travel for the reception so she should love to get a charter bus to help transport everyone. It could be really nice for her to rent a charter bus from a professional so that they will be really safe. It was interesting to learn about how the buses have the best style and class with a high capacity.

Thank you for this guide about the difference between a luxury bus and a charter bus! My friends are planning to visit a lakefront to destress and we're considering renting a vehicle for it. The idea of having individual AC and footrests is very appealing for me. I should share this with the gang so they can decide which one they like best before our trip,

Thank you for pointing out that using a charter bus is a convenient way to travel in a group. I would like to take my church group to a sporting event next month, so I'm considering chartering a bus for the occasion. I'm going to search for a reputable bus charter service in the area that I can hire.
